Youth Athletic Classes

Join the excitement of youth athletic classes at Geneva Park District! Designed for budding athletes, our classes offer a thrilling introduction to sports like lacrosse, soccer, and basketball. Led by passionate instructors, our youth programs prioritize fun while instilling fundamental skills and teamwork.

Youth Softball Leagues

Geneva Park District offers youth softball leagues for 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U age groups. Each season consists of 8 to 9 games, plus playoffs for the 10U, 12U, and 14U divisions. Participants will enjoy light travel to neighboring communities including Batavia, Sugar Grove, and Wasco. Our spring registration will open for residents on December 10th. Practices will start at the beginning of April and be held once per week at the coach’s choosing. Games will be played on weeknights and Saturday mornings. We are always looking for volunteer coaches. Leagues are determined by the participants age as of September 1st, 2024.

Basketball

Recreation Basketball League – BOYS (Grades 3-8)

Practices will begin the first week of December. Games start the second weekend of January.

This league will involve light travel to neighboring communities.

Recreation Basketball League – GIRLS (Grades 3-6)

Practices will begin the first week of December. Games will start the second weekend of January.

This league will involve light travel to neighboring communities.

High School Basketball League

High school basketball registration will close on December 6th. Participants are responsible for forming their own teams and electing one team captain who is responsible for turning in the Team Roster Form to the Athletic Supervisor (cbradburn@genevaparks.com) by December 23rd. The team captain must list an email address on the Team Roster Form in order to receive communications from the park district. All team members must register individually prior to playing. An adult 21+ is required to be on the bench for during each game.

Behavior Policy & Discipline Procedures

In order to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment, a strict discipline policy has been adopted for all Geneva Park District programs. The following policies are designed to preserve a healthy program experience for all participants:

Harming oneself such as, but not limited to:

  • Leaving grounds without permission
  • Leaving designated group without permission
  • Climbing on objects that are not recommended by staff
  • Physical damage to self
  • Possession, use, or transfer of alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco or tobacco products

Harming others such as, but not limited to:

  • Fighting
  • Throwing objects at or near others
  • Bringing or using weapons, i.e. knives, glass, sharp objects, etc.
  • Hitting, kicking or biting others
  • Extreme verbal abuse, profanity, or disrespect to others
  • Other aggressive behavior

Damage to property

  • Vandalism
  • Tantrums resulting in damage to property
  • Breaking, damaging or destroying property

Theft

  • Taking any item that does not belong to the child

Discipline Procedures: Two verbal warnings will be given before the first offense. For further offenses, a structured disciplinary process will follow.
