About Us

Peck Farm Park Volunteering

What do volunteers do?

Volunteers help us operate the Butterfly House, Peck House Gift Shop, assist with programs and work in the natural areas. In the Butterfly House they learn all about these amazing insects, how to care for and maintain the exhibit, ensure proper USDA procedures for operation are followed, greet visitors, and respond to questions from the public. Other volunteers may help us in the “pupa room”, where we hatch and release the butterflies into the exhibit.

How much time do I need to commit?

We ask that volunteers commit to a 2-hour block of time at least 8 times throughout the season (June through September). Some volunteers may come every week, others twice a month. It’s completely up to the volunteer how much time they can donate. Regardless, it’s extremely fun and educational!

Do I need previous experience?

No! We’ll provide you with everything you need to know at the volunteer training.

When are volunteer trainings?

Volunteers are required to attend training. The training schedule is available early May. Please dial (630) 262-8244 for more information.
